While that doesn't seem too likely, a fan couldn't help but ask Jonathan Keltz (Leith) if the two characters will find a happy ending with each other. When the actor saw this question on Twitter, he didn't give an official answer; instead, he gave an emoji of a face that looks a bit bewildered on what might happen next.

Chatter On Mary's Banishment On 'Reign'

Last fall, Keltz spoke with No White Noise about the drama that his character's been facing with Greer where he didn't seem too optimistic that they could work things out.

"The thing I'll say is Greer has now turned Leith down from marriage twice. That's a pretty hard thing to come back from," Keltz said. "I think that we have potentially seen the last of these two love birds' foray into romance."

It's pretty hard for two people to have a steady relationship if they both want different things.

"Greer is very committed to her career path and her business and being the independent woman she now is. Leith is, although in a very new stage in his life, still committed to wanting a traditional and conventional family that he imagines for himself," the actor noted. "I don't know if I see the two of them compromising on those two visions and dreams anytime soon. We may have seen the end of Greith."

Only time will tell if things can still change.

Reign returns to The CW on Monday, April 25.
