Prepon spoke with E! News recently about the Alex and Piper relationship, which has been on and off again since the beginning of the series.

"The Alex and Piper relationship is so awesome. It's so tumultuous...they love each other a lot. It's this crazy relationship, there's never a dull moment," she said. "I don't know if two people like that could ever ride off into the sunset, but we'll see what happens in season four. There's no shortage of stories to tell."

Alex was last seen in the season 3 finale facing off against one of Kubra's (Eya Younis) cronies in the prison's greenhouse, clearly in a great deal of trouble.

But Alex will get out of it somehow, which should come as no surprise.

"We do have to be kind of tight-lipped, but that was kind of a give away. Now with social media, you can't hide anything," Prepon said.

As for Piper, Stella (Ruby Rose) provided quite a distraction for her, but she was integral to Stella's transfer to maximum security after finding out that Stella had stolen all the money made from Piper's panty business. With Stella out of the way, will Piper turn her attention back to Alex? Only time will tell.

Orange Is the New Black season 4 is set to premiere on Friday, June 17 on Netflix.
