Gwen Stefani spoke out in a new interview, and judging by the sound of her comments, she may have addressed her ex-husband Gavin Rossdale's alleged multi-year affair with the former nanny of their three children, Mindy Mann.

While talking to the New York Times on Thursday, Stefani recalled a time in February 2015 (the same month Us Weekly claimed she learned of the affair), when her life "was literally blown up into my face."

"If I could, I would just tell you everything, and you would just be in shock. It’s a really good, juicy story," Stefani told the paper, not wanting to say too much as it would likely be harmful to her children.

“I’m gonna die,” Stefani recalled thinking to herself. “I am dead, actually. How do I save myself? What am I going to do? How do I not go down like this?”

“I have to make music out of this. That’s what God wants for me,” she thought to herself.

As she got back into the studio and poured her heart out in a number of songs, including "Used To Love You" and "Make Me Like You," Stefani's onscreen relationship with Shelton took a romantic turn.

Shelton “had been going through literally the exact same thing in literally the exact same time frame,” she said. Still, “never in my wildest, craziest dreams would I ever have seen this coming."

Gwen Stefani's new album, This Is What the Truth Feels Like, will be released on Friday, March 18.
