The wait has been agonizing for fans, but there may finally be some promising news concerning a premiere date for the second season of Secrets and Lies.

While ABC has not officially released any information for the show, which was supposed to premiere during Nashville's winter break (it was pushed back so American Crime could air its second season instead), members of the crew appear to have been busy on social media, trying to assure fans that the show has not been abandoned by the network and is still in the works to come back.

Noah Nelson, one of the show's writers, took to his Twitter page on March 3 to share some updates with fans, and while he couldn't give any official start date or specific information, he did insist that it would be hitting TV screens soon enough, and that the show was indeed going to live up to the hype of its first season.

"#SecretsandLies will be returning SOON. That's all I'm told. That's all I know. Promise. Well, that and the fact that season 2 is AWESOME!" He wrote.

He quickly followed that post up with a photo of himself behind-the-scenes, sitting in a director's chair and holding up caution tape that read "coming Soon," which was taken by the behind-the-scenes photographer, Brooke Bunson, who also shared an update for the show on Twitter.

"Soon! Cornell and crew better than ever in season 2! #thebunisback," she wrote.

And while showrunner Barbie Kligman hasn't shared updates of her own on social media, she did retweet the photo of Nelson as well, hinting that there is indeed still plans to get the show on air again.

There has been very little word on the show's premiere date since it was initially pushed back, though there seems to be more indication it could be a part of ABC's summer lineup once the regular season of shows wrap up in the next few months. However, this is still unconfirmed.

Season two will follow Detective Cornell (Juliette Lewis) as she investigates the murder of Eric Warner's (Michael Ealy) wife, Kate (Jordana Brewster) on the night of his father's retirement party. As she investigates Eric and his family, including his father, John (Terry O'Quinn), sister, Amanda (Mekia Cox), and brother, Patrick (Charlie Barnett), dark secrets begin to emerge.

Cornell is the only cast member to be returning from the show's first season, which investigated the murder of Ben Crawford's (Ryan Phillippe) son.
