Actress Jessica Alba said she doesn't like to dwell or judge fellow mothers and feels parents should be confident in their decision-making when it comes to their children.

In an interview with People, the mother-of-two said, "When you become a mom, the last thing you want to do is feel judged because everybody is trying to do the best they can."

One of the main topics she discusses is breastfeeding and how some mothers feed their children for an extended period of time yet don't want to be judged for it. She gave an example of a friend who "may or may not be" still breastfeeding her 3-year-old.

"She should be fine with that, and she shouldn't feel judged," she said. "And then my friend who never even attempted really to breastfeed because it was too exhausting for her ... she shouldn't feel like she's a bad mom."

Alba, author of the book The Honest Life, also discussed stay-at-home moms versus mothers who hold a job. She said she understands both sides and has friends who work and spend the week nights and weekends with their kids, and others who have their children with them at all times. Alba said both kinds of mothers are fine.

Alba's daughter Honor is 4 and her youngest daughter Haven is 19 months old.
