Could there be a romantic future on Bates Motel for Dylan and Emma?

It seems to be a possibility based on what Max Thieriot (Max) told IGN in Monday's report. As Emma went through a lung transplant surgery, it gives insight on what this could mean as she embraces a new chance at life. But will it be with Dylan?

"Obviously, Emma's a little younger than Dylan, and at this point, her future is a little brighter," Thieriot said. "He's questioning where he stands, and will there be a future? At the same time, there's this sort of connection that the two of them have that is undeniable."

The actor pointed out how Emma's recovery will be a big part of the storyline this season as more speculation lies ahead on where her romantic journey will end. It could potentially be with Dylan, but there's a chance that both of them might discover new things as their lives continue.

"Because of her new situation, it starts to put Dylan and Emma in a position of wondering if there's other things they can do now-- other places they can go, other places they can see, other things they can do," Thieriot explained. "While she's recovering, there's obviously also hope now because she has been given this second chance."

There's also the matter of Max's 'psycho' mom and brother, leaving him in a tough spot to decide who's really losing it.

"Neither one of them are ever really telling Dylan the truth, or at least all of it," the actor said. "He's trying to figure out who's really the crazy one here. That's sort of the beginning of bringing him back drawn into the family."

Bates Motel airs on Mondays at 9 p.m. ET on A&E.
