Has MTV manipulated Leah Messer's storyline on Teen Mom 2 to make her look like a victim of Corey Simms instead of a drug user?

Following the sixth season of the series, in which Simms claimed Messer was hiding a "drug problem" and Jeremy Calvert noted a "prescription pill problem," Simms and his wife, Miranda, took a step back from production out of frustration with the network's refusal to air the truth.

“Corey feels MTV did him dirty,” a friend of Simms explained to Radar Online on Monday. “He thinks they had the perfect opportunity to show viewers, ‘This is what happens when you get on drugs, this is the reality.’ Instead, they made it seem like Corey was constantly attacking Leah for no reason.”

During season six, Messer was caught slurring her words and nodding off while holding a baby, but according to Simms' friend, her on-screen behavior was only the tip of the iceberg.

“Corey told MTV just what he thought about the situation, and said that he and Miranda would not film nearly as much as in past seasons,” the friend revealed. “Producers understood.”

In addition to Messer's alleged drug use, the mother of three has also been accused of hiding her boyfriend, T.R. Dues, from Teen Mom 2 cameras, as she did during season six.

“[Leah’s] boyfriend that she’s been supposedly broke up with is still living with her, and he is such a loser,” a source told All About The Tea last week. "They were filming last weekend, and he left while they were there."
