Insidious 4 is definitely in the cards, and director Leigh Whannell already has a vision for the next chapter.

So while not a lot of information is coming out about the movie yet, it's time we rewound to Whannell's words of assurance from earlier this year.

While he obviously didn't have a clear-cut plan, he had already been teasing the idea.

"I don't know. I haven't really thought about it yet. But for the purposes of this interview, I'll say that I'd like to explore the time between this film and the first film," he said. "That whole area there where Elise has rediscovered her gift, I think you could have a lot of adventures before she arrives. So I think there is a lot of room there. We've kind of established Lin [Shaye] in this particular film as kind of this superhero, so that would be kind of interesting to explore in the other films."

In fact, in another interview with Entertainment Weekly, Whannell dished about the possibility of sequels to Insidious: Chapter 3.

"This third film really sets up the Insidious universe to go on, if it was successful enough," he said. Whannell went on to state that the possibilities were limitless in a way, as Elise (Lin Shaye) is back, and a bunch of different movies could be made placing her in "different situations with different families."

Meanwhile fans can get excited about the release—set for June 10—of the sequel to The Conjuring. James Wan, who directed the first two installments of Insidious, handed the reigns to his co-writer Whannell for the third installment. There is no telling if Wan might be back for a fourth in the series.

In The Conjuring 2, Ed and Lorraine Warren and their expertise will be required in Enfield, England this time around, relating to poltergeist activity in a council house.

The first official trailer for the sequel was also recently revealed. It is quite terrifying with the return of Ed (Patrick Wilson) and Lorraine Warren (Vera Farmiga) and troubles with a young girl who is plagued by ghosts and hearing terrible things. She tells Lorraine that the voice tells her it wants to hurt Lorraine. What follows is horrifying visuals in which the girl, Ed and Lorraine are being overpowered by the vicious paranormal forces.

Insidious 3 hit theaters on June 5.
