Farrah Abraham is preparing to welcome a second child into her family.

Although the Teen Mom OG star has no plans to get pregnant, she's hoping to expand her family through adoption, and would like to adopt a girl within the next two years.

"We're open to adopting someone who's not just – a child that can not just only be a newborn. But also a child that is maybe 3 or older," Abraham explained to PEOPLE Magazine on Monday. "There's a lot of, you know, orphans that are so adorable. So, I mean, it just breaks my heart when I see things like that because I grew up around adoptive families and I've always wanted to help. So it's just a time and a place and hopefully soon I will be ready."

While it make take some time for the adoption process to be complete, Abraham's 7-year-old daughter, Sophia, is ready now.

“I’m happy to confirm I'm moving forward in my adoption process. This means I will be making some changes in my career to welcome a new addition to my family,” Abraham explained to Us Weekly in Dec. 2015. “Very excited, and this feels so right. I'm very blessed for this opportunity.”

Abraham first shared news of her adoption plans to OK! Magazine, and at the time, she revealed her daughter's excitement in the possiblity of having a new sibling.

“Sophia is in the right frame of mind and is very supportive as well,” Abraham said. “She is very open and accepting to understanding that someone else had other parents, and we would be their second parent and be a loving family to them.”

For the majority of her life, Abraham has seen many adoptions, which has insipired her to follow through with her initial plan and give Sophia a little sister.

“Every neighbor of mine was adopted and they also did foster care. I grew up around that. I’m very passionate,” she said.
