Mad Men mainstay Jon Hamm's days of going commando to set are now allegedly nonexistent, as its being claimed that the 42-year-old actor has been asked to wear underwear while sporting his Don Draper character's tight fit suits for the popular show.

According to The New York Daily News, a source of the TV series elaborated on the seemingly uncomfortable circumstances.

"This season takes place in the 1960s, where the pants are very tight and leave little to the imagination. Jon's impressive anatomy is so distracting that they politely insisted on underwear."

The source also went on to tell the newspaper that Hamm's "privates are the inside joke" amongst crew members of Mad Men and the actor "knows what he's got."

Hamm's privates have reportedly been on the mind of the AMC network since its debut in 2007.

"Imagine how distracting that would be on the side of a bus or building. When the promotional pictures came back the first few seasons, we had to work with them. Everyone was concerned about too much Christina Hendricks boob, but it's Jon that has the most to show. It's a good problem to have," the source continued.

The source also said that during the series' first two seasons in production, AMC's marketing department had to digitally decrease the size of Hamm's privates in order to better suit the promo materials handed out for Mad Men.

However, a representative of Hamm is far from amused by the newspaper's report on Hamm's anatomy.

"It is ridiculous and not really funny at all. I'd appreciate you taking the high road and not resorting to something childish like this that's been blogged about 1,000 times," the rep said.

Hamm and the rest of the Mad Men cast is set to kick off season six on Sunday, April 7 with a two-hour special episode.
