The casting director for Big Brother is looking for something a little different for the cast of the upcoming 18th season.

Big Brother casting director Robyn Kass appeared on CBS LA recently to promote the ongoing auditions for Big Brother 18, which airs this summer.

Asked if she knows who will and won't make it on the show when meeting people in person, Kass admitted that it's not always clear.

"Yes and no... I think it gets harder and harder every year because we're trying to find different types, different personalities, different energies, different looks, representing different places of the country," she said (via Big Brother Network). "Now, season 18, I just want totally different things, so sometimes it's more difficult. That being said, sure. If somebody amazing is in front of me - it doesn't happen all that often, but yeah, sometimes they just have that 'It Factor' and you're like, 'I want more.'"

Kass went on to discuss what exactly she looks for when casting the reality series, using the example of being at a dinner party where some people are just not engaging when telling a story, while others are able to draw you in. Obviously she is looking for those who are able to tell a dynamic story and keep your attention.

As for the open casting calls taking place all around the country, Kass urged applicants to come in energized, looking their best and come in with an open mind. She said that it's not necessary to plan some big monologue or anything premeditated like that.

"All applicants must meet the eligibility requirements in order to be considered," the website says. "Any applicant is more than welcome to apply on line and come to an open call BUT you only have to do one or the other to be considered."

Big Brother 18 is slated to premiere Wednesday, June 22 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CBS. Like past seasons, it will air three nights a week through the summer: Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday.
