Death is never permanent when you're playing with time travel.

The return of The Flash's Eobard Thawne drilled that message home in "The Reverse Flash Returns," and it means fans of Legends of Tomorrow should take heart. If you loved Hawkman (Falk Hentschel) and Heat Wave (Dominic Purcell), there's a good chance your faves will drop back into the story before season 1 comes to a close.

Hawkman is dead, and despite his ability to reincarnate, the ancient Egyptian has remained MIA since Legends of Tomorrow began. Heat Wave, meanwhile, is in a strange limbo. There is no way to know for sure if Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller) threw his hot-headed friend into a permanent deep freeze, but is he did, it is quite possible the rouge could power up his heat gun once more.

"The show takes place over multiple time periods, so we could kill a character off tomorrow and then jump back in time and see them again before they die. Death has a different meaning on this show just because the time travel element of it," executive producer Marc Guggenheim told EnStars at WonderCon. "I'm not even talking about changing time [and] preventing their death; I just mean rewinding the tape, essentially, and going back to the period before they die. You'll see quite a bit of that in the remainder of season 1."

Hmmm...is that a teaser for Hawkman and/or Heat Wave's return, or are the writers planning on throwing Rip's (Arthur Darvill) family back into the mix?

Legends, which received a season 2 pick up earlier this month, has quite a bit of story left to tell before the finale. The series will return this Thursday to rescue Sara (Caity Lotz), Kendra (Ciara Renee), and Ray (Brandon Routh) from the 1950s in "Left Behind" before rolling out "Progeny," "The Magnificent Eight," "Last Refuge," Leviathan," "River of Time," "Destiny," and "Legendary." If we we're to put money on it, we'd say the final three episodes sound perfect for pulling someone back from the dead.
