Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber appeared to be on the verge of a reconciliation just one week ago, but has the pair actually began dating again?

Although Gomez and Bieber have been flirting on social media and she was recently spotted at one of his shows, Bieber has reportedly called off an all-out dinner date surprise, in which he was allegedly planning to win her back.

"Justin wanted to rent out the Staples Center after his concert to do a repeat date night screening of Titanic for Selena because he is trying to get back with her," an insider told E! News on Monday. "I don't know why he didn't go through with it, and I also don't know if he ever even told Selena about his plan, but I do know he is really obviously trying to date her again. He wanted to do something big and extravagant for her like this and had been making arrangements for the movie date before his concert even started."

Prior to their big night, however, Bieber's mood was said to be "off," and in addition to canceling his date night plans with Gomez, he also backed out of a fan meet and greet.

"He cancelled his meet and greet that fans paid $2000 for," the source revealed. "During his concert between songs, he was alluding to the fact that he wasn't happy to be there. At one point during the concert he was just lying on the stage not singing, just letting the track run."

He even ended up leaving the concert 20 minutes early with Gomez in tow, which forced Skrillex to close the show by himself.

"The speculation is that an argument had taken place between the two before the show since he cancelled the date plans," said the source. "Something had shifted Bieber's mood completely."

Still, while Gomez and Bieber were together, a source at the venue claimed they looked happy.

"[Selena and Justin] looked genuinely comfortable together," an onlooker revealed to E! News at the time. "They both looked really happy."

As for the current status of Bieber's relationship with Gomez, another source added, "There is nothing romantic going. They are not dating."
