Wes Bentley was admittedly a bit jealous about Denis O'Hare's role in FX's American Horror Story: Hotel.

Bentley appeared at PaleyFest last weekend for a panel on American Horror Story: Hotel. He spoke with PopSugar on the red carpet about what he had hoped to do this season that he wasn't able to, in the end.

"Liz Taylor was amazing. The minute I saw him, he was the first person I saw on set, was Denis," Bentley said. "As soon as I saw him/her, I was like, 'I wanna do that! I wanna do this, that's fun!' And he nailed it."

Heading into season 6, Bentley is hoping to do something a little more outlandish like that, compared to his rather stoic Hotel character, John Lowe. "I would enjoy doing something with a bit more energy to it."

As for what he knows about the new season, he admitted that he has no idea what's ahead, just like the rest of us.

"Nothing. I know exactly what you know. I've been texting [showrunner] Ryan [Murphy] for weeks. He hasn't even texted me anything back 'cause I think he's being very secretive this year," Bentley said.

Bentley did suggest some ideas to Zap2it on that same red carpet:

"I've heard good ideas; I'll go off of those," Bentley said. "One was like a ship, like a 'Ghost Ship' kinda thing. It would be really hard to do, but I think it would be interesting. I even heard someone say summer camp and at first I was like hmmm (no), but then I thought about it and thought that's not a bad idea."

Murphy has said next to nothing about season 6, telling fans at PaleyFest that he's working on two ideas at once. He did say that both concepts have something to do with children, and that writing the series is similar to an "opera." Most of the cast of American Horror Story: Hotel will return for season 6, including Bentley.

American Horror Story season 6 is set to premiere this fall on FX.
