Bethenny Frankel and her co-stars are nearing the start of The Real Housewives of New York City season eight, and as they close in on the upcoming season premiere, new details about Frankel's mystery illness have been revealed.

During a party last night in honor of the season eight debut, Ramona Singer opened up about Frankel's health.

“Women, once they get older, they do have a lot of health issues—and fibroids are a very common thing,” Singer told Radar Online during her appearance at Beautique in NYC on Tuesday night. “She’s basically a healthy woman, and things with medicine today, everything will be worked out for her."

Days ago, Frankel's diagnosis was revealed.

"Bethenny had to have fibroids removed because of concern it wasn't taken out, she would develop cancer," a source explained to In Touch Weekly on Monday. "The surgery was supposed to be very easy, but Bethenny did suffer from excessive bleeding afterward. It was a scary time for Bethenny and made her realize there was no close family in her life to help with the recovery. Estranged from her mother for years and going through a bitter divorce to estranged husband Jason Hoppy, there aren't a lot of people in her life that she can rely on. It's sad that Bethenny's paid staff helped to take care of her in the days after the surgery."

In other Bethenny Frankel news, the reality star and Skinnygirl mogul recently got out of paying a substantial amount of alimony and child support to her soon-to-be ex-husband, Jason Hoppy.

“Of course, Jason was not so happy with the decision to deny him temporary support and agreed with the judge who would not go along with the other judges,” Hoppy's lawyer Bernard Clair told In Touch.

Hoppy was reportedly receiving $12,000 in temporary support, along with an additional $10,000 in child support.
