Bobbi Kristina Brown’s family has gotten a relief after she was removed as a defendant from a court case months after she passed away.

Bobbi Kristina was being sued for $73,000 for a car accident she was involved in just days before she was found unconscious in her bathtub on Jan. 31, 2015. A man named Russell Eckerman filed the action against Bobbi Kristina and her friend Danyela Bradley, who was also in the car. He accused Bobbi Kristina of riding his tail before she crashed into his vehicle.

The plot thickened in the case when Bradley gave her testimony during the deposition for the case. She claimed that Bobbi Kristina “often” used cocaine and heroin in the days before her bathtub occurrence. Eckerman then wanted to see a toxicology report on Brown to get more information.

But things took a turn last month, on Feb. 16, after Eckerman’s attorneys seemed to have a change of heart. They requested that both Bobbi Kristina and Bradley be “dismissed” from the case “with prejudice,” which stops Eckerman from being able to file anymore lawsuits against the two ladies, Radar Online reported Thursday.

Still, the case isn’t over just yet. Eckerman is still suing Ford Motor Company and “reserves all claims and judgments it may hold against Ford as well.”

In that situation, Eckerman went with the “without prejudice,” option, meaning that he can still sue Ford in the future if he wants to.

It’s not clear what happened to Bobbi Kristina but her autopsy report released earlier this year said she had a cocaine-like substance in her system along with marijuana.
