On Tuesday evening, Black Girls Rock! took over BET and Social Media and honored international superstar Rihanna with the Rock Star award. During the award acceptance, Riri showed gratitude toward those that were honored; those who selected her and thanked the women who helped shape her like her mother and grandmother.

Rihanna’s speech included self-motivation and encouraging words to others. “The only thing that has kept me going is being myself,” Rihanna shared. “The minute you learn to love yourself, you would not want to be anybody else.”
