Former Pittsburgh Steelers star Kordell Stewart filed for divorce from his Atlanta Housewives reality star Porsha Williams and new details have emerged surrounding Stewarts' 'trust' tweets and gay allegations--that may have been the cause of their broken romance.

According to TMZ, the NFL quarterback filed divorce papers at Fulton County Superior Court in Georgia on March 22. In the papers, the former NFL player said the marriage of almost two years is "irretrievably broken," and that the couple is presently separated. The two wed in May 2011.

In a series of tweets via his Twitter account, Stewart has been retweeting and posting messages assumed to be related to his broken marriage to Williams.

On Sunday, Stewart retweeted a message that read "Apology accepted, trust denied." He then responded to the tweet and wrote, "Right on bra."

Another tweet he retweeted read: "It's sad how quickly people can forget about you, until they want something from you."

In the papers filed, the football star also claimed that his estranged wife should not be entitled to spousal support. "[She's] an able-bodied person, earning income and is capable of supporting herself," the papers stated. Suggesting an existing prenuptial agreement, Kordell's filing also states that there are no marital assets to be divided.

The Daily Mail reported that Stewart had been facing rumors that he was gay, which Williams defended on his behalf.

The reality star appeared as a guest on Power 105 FM's Breakfast Club back in December and host Charlemagne Tha God asked Williams if Stewart was gay.

Charlemagne The God asked: "You know there were a lot of gay rumours about Kordell at one point. He [allegedly] got caught in the park in Pittsburgh and the police didn't want to turn him in because he was a star quarterback.'

Porsha denied all rumors and said she did not hear any rumors that said her estranged husband was gay.

"There's lies out there on the Internet about all kinds of celebrities," she said.

Kordell, who is now a radio sports talkshow analyst with Atlanta's WZGC 92.9 The Game, has a son named Syre from a previous relationship.
