Since iPhone5 users are generally very attached to their smartphones, it's only appropriate that they pick the proper casing for optimal protection.

Fortunately for Apple device owners, there are a slew of viable options that have recently become available.

The Pantone Universe cover is similar to that of the iPad Bookcase, as it has a folded design that makes it feasible to use the iPhone5 in any position. It can be layed out on a flat surface in landscape view and used hands free, which makes it ideal for video conference calls. The item currently runs on Amazon for $39.99.

The LifeProof case is said to offer the most up to date phone protection ever constructed, mostly due to its military grade quality, giving the smartphone thin, light and strong stability. To top it off, it even prevents the camera from collecting both dirt and dust. It retails on Amazon for $79.99.

For sleek, weightless protection, the Incipio Feather is less than 0.3 inches thick, making it ultra-thin. It has an extra-strength polymer case that guarantees iPhone5 protection from anything that may potentially scratch the device up. The case actually goes for a very affordable $10.50 on Amazon.

The X-Doria Dash is a glossy polycarbonate fabric with a perforated texture that combines several layers of protection with a slim fit. It's the only iPhone 5 casing with a window in it. Amazon sells the uniquely styled case for $29.99.

The most preferred iPhone 5 case on the market is said to be the ZAGG invisibleSHIELD. It has minimal bulk, but offers its users an improved grip, invisible protection and a scratch-resistant film. The cover, with an iPhone in it, was tested by being dropped on a cement floor from six feet high, and left no scratch. It's currently available on Amazon for a bargain at $9.60.

As one can clearly see by the various price ranges in terms of cases, the money shelled out for the iPhone5 protector doesn't necessarily indicate the quality of the protection itself.
