Former NFL player Kordell Stewart filed for divorce from his wife Atlanta Housewives' Porsha Williams on Friday. But before the reality star became a housewife, she was an evangelist and many reports have concluded that her sudden drift from the church may be the reason why she's battling a divorce.

Enstars reported that the former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback filed divorce papers at Fulton County Superior Court in Georgia on March 22. In the papers, he said his marriage to Porscha of almost two years is "irretrievably broken," and that the couple is presently separated. The two wed in May 2011.

Porsha used to minister the Bible in church and was a preacher at High Praise Christian Center Ministries in Lithonia, Ga. The reality star is the granddaughter of Hosea Williams, who was also a preacher. Hosea passed away in 2000.

According to reports, Stewart was fed up with her changing ways from a preacher to a trophy wife, and is said to be one of the causes behind's the couple's split.

Essence magazine reported that Porscha was not ashamed to be labeled as a trophy and was very proud, saying that it's not all about her looks.

"It's about the man who has put you on the pedestal and him admiring you and thinking well enough of you to put you up there," she recently told ABC News Radio.

Porsha said she enjoyed being a traditional wife, who stayed at home to make sure Kordell was always taken care of. In a RHOA episode, Porscha refused to go to a strip club in Vegas because she didn't get her estranged husband's permission.

Porscha once said she wanted to branch out of the domestic life and told ABC Radio that she was coming out with project.

"It'll be about relationships for sure and it'll just speak to that, speak to love and the struggles, and the ups and the downs and the great moments, all of that. It'll be something that -- a soundtrack to our life," she said.

Although the couple has not said much about the divorce filling, the 31-year-old reality star took to social media to thank fans for emotional support.

"Thank you for your Prayers," she captioned the photo on Instagram, which also said to "seek God in difficult moments."
