Kristen Bell welcomed a baby girl on Thursday and make jokes about her daughter on Twitter the same day that she gave birth.

Bell's fiance, actor Dax Shepard, broke news of the birth on March 28 with the following message on Twitter: "Lincoln Bell Shepard is here. She has mom's beauty and dad's obsession with breasts. Hooray!"

The House of Lies actress followed up with a joke of her own.

"My new roommate poops her pants and doesn't pay rent," Bell tweeted, "basically Dax Shepard pre-sobriety. Welcome baby Lincoln."

Bell and Shepard began dating in 2007 and announced their engagement in 2010. The Parenthood actor and Gossip Girl star announced her pregnancy in November. The couple have yet to wed because they are waiting until gay marriage is legal.

"The reason we're not rushing to get married is because I don't feel appropriate taking advantage of a right that's denied to my [gay and lesbian] friends," Bell previously explained to The Advocate.

Rumors circulated that the Veronica Mars star was expecting a girl when a friend tweeted a picture from her baby shower last month. In the image the comedic actress is seen holding up two breast pumps against her chest while a pink and brown gift box is in front of her.

Bell's friend, writer Kelly Oxford, captioned her Twitpic photo of the actress: "totally trying to get me to put the next baby in her :("

The couple have cracked jokes nonstop in interviews about the arrival of their first child. When they attended the Golden Globes together in Beverly Hills on Jan. 13, Entertainment Tonight reportedly asked the couple on the red carpet "what kind of crazy parents" they expect to be and Shepard answered, "We're giving the child up for adoption."

Bell quickly followed up with: "If anybody wants it, let us know!"

When the same report inquired about the baby's sex, the couple said they knew but would not reveal it.

In January, Bell told Ellen DeGeneres that when she arrives at the hospital to give birth she thinks she will want "a glass of whiskey."

"I want the epidural in my back and I want to get hit in the face with a baseball bat and wake me up when it's over because I've seen the videos -- and it looks terrifying," she quipped.

Shepard stars in NBCs Parenthood. Bell is widely known for the 1990s hit Veronica Mars and lent her voice as the narrator on Gossip Girl until the series ended last year.

House of Lies season two airs Sundays on Showtime at 10 p.m. EST.
