Caleb's Quantico track marks are no ploy.

The FBI picked a conniving batch of NATs to turn into full-fledged agents, and the Bureau's golden boy was leading the pack in "Soon." In the past, Mark Raymond went full on Rocky to protect his cover. In the future, Caleb (Graham Rogers) was hiding in plain sight.

The midseason finale saddled Claire's (Marcia Cross) son with the crushing wait of survivor's guilt, and it's clear mommy dearest is more concerned with her campaign than the well being of her youngest child. Caleb might be playing Alex (Priyanka Chopra), but his heroin addiction is 100 percent real.

"He is a drug addict," series creator Josh Safran confirmed, according to Entertainment Weekly. "He's not faking it."

Despite his intimate relationship with a certain opioid, Caleb's head is clear enough for him to weigh in on the series' latest scheme. Despite having lived as a recluse for the last few months, the final moments of "Soon" revealed that Rogers' character still has a little skin in the game. Now, we're left to wonder exactly whose side he's on - and if his status as an addict will cause his grand plans to go sideways.

"He's clearly speaking to someone on the phone at the end of the episode. And by the way, who that person he's speaking to, you'll find out in the first 10 minutes of the next episode," Safran teased. "It's not something that we drag out. But he did turn to drugs. He watched his father die. All of that is real."

Next time on Quantico, Alex will get one step closer to understanding what the terrorist is really after (see a preview below).

"It's career day at Quantico as the NATS meet representatives from various FBI branches to help them decide their future paths," ABC teased. "In the future, Alex continues to search for the terrorist, and in the process, discovers some familiar faces - including one who knows the terrorist's endgame."

Quantico airs Sundays at 10 p.m. ET on ABC.
