Are you ready to meet Doctor Who's newest companion? You only have two more days to wait!

The BBC will introduce fans to Clara's replacement this Saturday during the FA Cup semi-finals. Tune in to watch Everton vs. Manchester United (Glory, Glory, Man United!) at 6 p.m. BST (1 p.m. ET) and find out which actress will join Twelve (Peter Capaldi) in the TARDIS for season 10.

Anxious fans should remember that showrunner Steven Moffat has decided not to pull the companion from the ranks of established characters. There are those who are crossing their fingers for the return of Ashildr or Osgood, but they're out of luck. The new companion will know very little about the titular Time Lord.

"Clara had prior knowledge of the Doctor. It was conceived as a human connected to your timeline, and so had access to the cosmic nature of the Doctor," Capaldi told Entertainment Weekly. "She understood a little about how he was. And as she was already with Matt [Smith], she knew the Daleks and the TARDIS. Now we have someone who knows very little about the Doctor."

That's not to say Twelve will hand over the TARDIS keys to a starry-eyed rube. Whoever links up with this abrasive iteration of the Doctor will have no trouble calling him out.

"I think the companion has to be someone who's not so impressed by the Doctor - she's not an assistant, she's not a servant, she can't be that," he explains to La Lata TV, via  Zap2It. "She has to be someone who really says, 'Are you sure that's the right thing to do? What are you doing?' and also doesn't take him seriously."

The new companion will join the cast when Doctor Who returns to the BBC and BBC America later this year. Click the video below to see a preview for the series' latest season.
