Outspoken comedian Joan Rivers had a few not-so-nice words for Adele when she called the singer chubby and insisted that she should lose some weight.

After Rivers blasted the Skyfall singer during Feb. 26 appearance on The Late Show With David Letterman and said she met with Adele at the Oscars and joked about her arms being fat.

"She was very scared because she was singing at the awards. She kept saying, 'My throat, my throat -- I don't know if I can swallow,'" Rivers said on the talk show. "And I said, 'Oh, yeah! You can swallow."

Speaking on the late-night show, Rivers also said: ''What's her song? Rolling in the Deep ... fried chicken!''

US Weekly reported that in a March 29 interview with HuffPost Live, Rivers continued to blast the singer's weight and said that her comments about Adele's weight was not "mean."

"She's a chubby lady who's very, very rich, and she should just calm down -- or lose weight!" Rivers said. "She wanted an apology, so I took an ad out on her ass. I said, 'You are not fat.' And then I had room for a lot of other ads."

The Fashion Police host is known for mocking celebrities about their weight. In an 1985 interview with Oprah Winfrey, Rivers called out Winfrey for gaining 50 pounds. "You shouldn't let that happen to you," she told Winfrey. "You're a pretty girl and you're single. You must lose the weight!"

In 2011, Rivers blasted singer Christina Aguilera and said she looked like a pig when she forgot the lyrics to the National Anthem during the SuperBowl game. "She looked like a pig. How stupid can you get?" Rivers asked. "Christina must have been thinking about food. That's why she forgot the words."

After Adele gave birth last fall, Rivers posted on her Twitter account: "Congratulations to Adele on the birth of her 68 pound 8 ounces bouncing baby boy."
