Chris Brown has opened up about his infamous spilt from Karrueche Tran and his decision to choose Rihanna over the model/socialite, and admitted that telling Tran that he loved someone else was very difficult.

In an interview with Hot 97's Angie Martinez, Brown said he and Tran are friends now, but it was a hard decision to let her go.

"It's never an easy situation to tell another person that you still love another person, so that's kinda difficult. But our friendship, me and Karrueche's friendship, is still cool. We're still good friends."

Brown added that he is not a "player" and insisted that was the main reason why he felt the need to release his break-up video, entitled the Real Chris Brown. In the video, he described his actions as a way of being a "man" and "honest" with his feelings about the love triangle relationship. The Look At Me Now singer said he informed both Rihanna and Tran that the video was coming out before it was released.

"Me being young, even with relationships in the past, I did a lot of lying, I did everything just to make sure nobody gets hurt in the process," Brown said of the video.

"I just don't feel it's necessary anymore in my life. Nobody can hate me for being honest. I had to just be brutal."

Brown admitted that he and Rihanna have a great relationship and even joked that the couple should make a movie about their situation one day.

"Hopefully in a couple of years, they'll do a movie," Brown joked. "I would play me."

On Monday, Brown released his first single, Fine China.

In the single, which runs over six minutes, Brown is seen looking sharp in a metallic gold bow-tie and a driving cap in his red Lamborghini car. He spends the video with a sexy girl, and shows off his dancing skills.

Brown said that his new album, X stands as a metaphor for an ex-girlfriend, in which it means that you're moving on with your life.

"Not holding on to the past and your old ways," Brown added.

"For this album, I wanted to have the same mentality as I did with the first album - me being green, me not thinking I know what's hot and what's next, me just being Chris Brown.
