Hollywood Celebrates Demise of Prop 8
Celebs took to Twitter to celebrate the US circuit court of appeals' decision to overturn Proposition 8, which banned same sex marriage.
"Proposition 8 serves no purpose, and has no effect, other than to lessen the status and human dignity of gays and lesbians in California," stated judge Stephen Reinhardt during today's ruling.
Voters in California passed Prop 8 in 2008, but a federal judge later deemed the bill unconstitutional in 2010. However, the ban remained in effect until today.
