Earvin "Magic" Johnson's son, Earvin III Johnson, publicly held hands with his boyfriend on the Sunset Strip in Los Angeles, Calif. on Monday.

Earvin III, also known as "EJ", is one of Magic's 3 children, was briefly interviewed by TMZ as he displayed major PDA with his unidentified beau.

Magic spoke out about his relationship with his son. The NBA legend told TMZ that him and his wife, Earlitha "Cookie" Kelly,  "love EJ and support him in every way" and  that they are "very proud of him."

The 20-year-old New York University student told the gossip website that he is a huge fan of the Los Angeles Lakers, the team his father once played with for many years. Earvin III said he is "hoping and praying" for his father's newly acquired business franchise, the Los Angeles Dodgers, the baseball team he recently became a part-owner of.

Magic recently spoke out on his stance against California's Proposition 8- the clause that bans same-sex marriage. Hearings for the ruling of "Prop 8" began in the Supreme Court on March 26.

"Prop 8 singles out one group of Californians to be treated differently -- including members of our family, our friends, and our coworkers," Magic said in a recorded telephone message according to Huffington Post. "That is not what California is about. So this Tuesday, vote no on Proposition 8. It is unfair and wrong. Thanks."

Magic became a huge supporter for marriage equality after he announced he was HIV-positive in 1991 and reports questioned his sexuality. He has since used his celebrity to spread AIDS awareness.

Magic had expressed his love for his son last summer when he was in New York.

"Thx to my son EJ for hosting me at NYU. Look forward to taking him to dinner tonight in the city," Magic tweeted.
