They're both waiting for word on their respective charges for murder and attempted murder, and now, Anna (Finola Hughes) and Carlos (Jeffrey Vincent Parise) will learn about some new twists in their cases that could severely impact their fates on General Hospital.

Anna is ready to face the consequences of trying to murder Carlos in retribution for Duke's murder, but though she wanted to make sure she was punished for her crimes, she could learn that something else, namely, Paul (Richard Burgi), could be trying to find a way to make sure she gets an even harsher sentence since she refuses to see his side of things.

"You're in worse trouble than you know," he threatens her as she prepares for her trial in a preview clip for the Friday, April 29 episode.

Meanwhile, Carlos is feeling more confident that he won't face charges for Duke's murder, since he was previously assured that the case against him was pretty flimsy. However, his good mood about things could take a sour turn when Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) arrives to let him know about Hale, the unexpected eyewitness who has suddenly come forward and admitted to seeing the murder.

"So what's the good word Mrs. Jerome?" Carlos asks in the clip.

However, that could still change, because Alexis is still unaware that Julian (William DeVry) resumed his place as the figurehead of his family's crime organization, and that he wants to do whatever it takes to make sure Carlos can't flip on him and send him to jail for ordering the hit on Duke. Now, he has ordered Hammer to take care of things, and before anyone can actually take a look at Hale to determine if he is a legitimate witness, or just someone else on Sonny's (Maurice Benard) payroll, he could be shot and killed, making any testimony he could give, completely pointless.

And if Carlos is able to walk, then it also looks bad for Anna, who no longer has as much of a defense in her own case.

General Hospital airs Monday-Friday at 3 p.m. on ABC.
