The Examiner reported that Daddy Yankee, whose real name is Ramon Ayala told Univision in Spanish on April 3 the following statement: "[I] believe that now is the time to grow, not only as a human being, but in all aspects.[I] believe that love is the purest feeling that exists and in this life, having the opportunity to share those moments with someone, which look and forget everything negative, it is a gift of life, I treasure more than myself."

Later in the afternoon, Daddy Yankee's publicist shot down those rumors that the artist acknowledged that he was gay. His agency in Florida issued a statement regarding the artist's sexuality and said that the social media and blogs were responsible for false reports.

"The reports circulating regarding Daddy Yankee's declaration of homosexuality was falsely written by an online outlet known for fabricating false information and spreading it through social media sites," Helga García, president of Perfect Partners Public Relations said.

The singer vented out his frustration surrounding the gay rumors on social media and tweeted a quote by Albert Einstein sharing with his fans his feelings about the controversy.

"Temo el día en que la tecnología sobrepase nuestra humanidad "El mundo solo tendrá una generación de idiotas" Albert Einstein, Daddy Yankee said in Spanish.

The quote was translated in English as: "I fear the day when technology exceeds our humanity the world will only have a generation of idiots,' Albert Einstein."

This is not the first incident where Daddy Yankee faced sexuality speculations. The Huffington Post reported that last month, he addressed speculations rumors about his sexual preference.

"Once again, ignorance has come into play, the Internet is where lies become truths and the truth becomes myth," he said at the time.
