Despite its worldwide success, Downton Abbey has still seen its share of stars opt to pursue other endeavors, which includes the high profile exits of Dan Stevens and Jessica Brown Findlay.

According to Deadline, Lily James (Rose), who will now become a series regular for the upcoming season, is one of three actresses being taken into consideration for a brand new Cinderella film, which is being directed by Kenneth Branagh of Thor.

James is apparently competing against the likes of Dark Shadows' Bella Heathcoate and former Pan Am standout Margot Robbie for the leading role. To top it off, it's even being said that there aren't even any other serious candidates for the part.

The respective news on James caused many fans to question whether a possible casting for the film role could impact her status with Downton Abbey.

While anything's possible, it doesn't look likely to happen, as shooting schedules can indeed be arranged for her to take part in both projects if need be.

This isn't the first instance that an actress on the program has been tied to casting rumors. Prior to Lady Sybil's death, Jessica Brown Findlay was speculated to be competing against Game of Thrones' Emilia Clarke for a role in the upcoming Captain America, according to Carter Matt.
