This year seems to be looking good for game publisher Bethesda, as it holds the release of not one, but two of its popular titles. True enough, the highlight of the year for the publisher might be the release of its popular first-person shooting game, Doom, this coming May. However, it seems like Bethesda has yet another card to play before the end of the year.

In an announcement on Tuesday, the game developer revealed that Dishonored 2, the follow-up title to the 2012 smash hit, would see a Nov. 11 release date. The game would see a full cross-platform release, being made available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.

What made the original Dishonored game so popular is the fact that it gave players a lot of freedom to complete its series of very challenging missions of assassinations and espionage. In the first game, players took the role of Corvo Attano, the royal protector, who takes it upon himself to save the abducted Emily Kaldwin, the daughter of the Empress while clearing his name. Notably, in the upcoming sequel, players could choose between both Corvo and Emily.

Bethesda has previously announced that the first Dishonored game became quite a pleasant surprise for the company, with its sales figures far exceeding the firm's expectations. Though the firm has not revealed the actual sales figures for the game, it is very likely that the release of its sequel is Bethesda's attempt at making Dishonored into one of its most lucrative franchises.

Though footage of the sequel's actual gameplay has not been revealed as of writing, Bethesda has assured fans that everything that made the first Dishonored title so endearing would be in the sequel as well. Thus, players would once more be given the choice of being as subtle or brutal as they would like once more.

As much as Dishonored 2 is a title that has the potential to become a major hit title once more, however, the upcoming game would have to contend with quite a lot of competition, such as the recently-revealed Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare and the upcoming Gears of War 4 for the Xbox One.

Official gameplay footage of Dishonored 2 would be revealed by Bethesda at its E3 showcase this coming June 12 on Los Angeles.
