'Teen Mom 2' Cast: Leah Messer, Chelsea Houska, Kailyn Lowry, Jenelle Evans In Season 8 [VIDEO]
The cast of Teen Mom 2 has reportedly begun filming season eight.
Although MTV has not yet officially confirmed the series will return, a new report claims Leah Messer, Chelsea Houska, Kailyn Lowry and Jenelle Evans have all signed on to appear on the reality show's upcoming installment.
"The cast is currently filming Season 8. In fact, they never stopped filming following the end of Season 7, so Season 8 will pick up right where Season 7 left off," The Ashley's Reality Roundup confirmed on Tuesday.
While there have been reports claiming Messer could leave the series after season seven, the report claimed one girl who was "reluctant to sign on" eventually did agree to paritcipate in season seven "for one simple reason: the money."
Messer has been hinted at her possible exit from the show for weeks, telling fans online the show is "fake" and that she's so over it.
“It’s the same story every season,” one source told The Ashley. “Someone says they are done with the show, but honestly, no one is going to turn down the money. [The girls] are used to making astronomical amounts of money, so it’s not like they can go back to a normal job and live the same lifestyle.”
While the men of the show have yet to be confirmed, Jeremy Calvert is reportedly "adamant about cutting ties to the show," and Adam Lind announced he would be quitting earlier this year on Instagram.
“Jeremy is over it,” The Ashley’s source claimed earlier this year. “He’s tired of being attached to this show, and now that he and Leah are divorced, he doesn’t want to be part of her drama. He’s tired of dealing with all the negativity that comes from him being on the show, too.”
Still, fans can expect to see a lot of excitement when the show returns.
"Season 8 should be full of drama," the outlet revealed. "It will likely cover Chelsea’s wedding to Cole DeBoer (although Chelsea will not be allowing MTV to film the actual wedding for the show). It will also cover Javi Marroquin‘s homecoming (although he is still on deployment for several more months), Jenelle‘s recent court drama and more!"
