It's official--you will not want to sit down to The Flash finale without a box of tissues and a bowl of ice cream to help you eat away your feelings.

Zoom (Teddy Sears) and Barry (Grant Gustin) are racing towards an epic face off, and it's one that will evidently leave you in tears. Titled "The Race of His Life," episode 23 will cap off season 2 with several major reveals (including the Man in the Iron Mask!).

"After Zoom reveals his true plan, Barry vows to do whatever it takes to stop him," The CW teased.

Well, we all knew Hunter had to be after more than just speed and destruction. As of "Rupture," however, the demonic speedster was no closer to revealing his evil schemes than we are to correctly guessing who he has locked up in his lair. Whatever goes down in that final hour, you can rest assured it will be heart wrenching.

"I spoke to Carlos Valdes, who plays Cisco, the other day and asked him to tease the season finale of Flash," TV Line's Matt Mitovich said in an 'Ask Ausiello' Facebook live stream on Thursday. "I asked him for three words to describe the finale, and those three words are a 'huge crying event.'"

The writers will play us like an emotional fiddle, but there is one other aspect that will have fans talking all hiatus. According to executive producer Todd Helbing, that is the pure scope of Barry and Zoom's title fight.

"Last year's [finale] was chock full of emotion and spectacle, and we tried to raise the bar," Helbing told TV Line. "Grant [Gustin] posted about how insanely emotional the finale is, and emotion really is driving it. But the vastness of the showdown is pretty epic."

In the meantime, the STAR Labs team still has to make it through "The Runaway Dinosaur' (May 10) and "Invincible" (May 17).
