They were getting more romantically involved and even falling deeply in love, but Rafe (Galen Gering) will begin to wonder if he has anything to worry about when it comes to his relationship with Hope (Kristian Alfonso) now that Aiden (Daniel Cosgrove) is suddenly back on Days of Our Lives.

Their last romantic date night took a sudden surprising turn when Hope returned home and found none other than her dead husband who tried to kill her standing in her living room. She quickly arrested him and he was carted off to the police station, but he had a very different story to tell her about what happened on their wedding night.

Aiden insisted that he wasn't the one who tried to kill her, and the man who committed the crime and died on her living room floor after Bo came to her rescue was a doppelganger hired by Andre (Thaao Penghlis) and Stefano. He claimed they took him captive and he was held for months, thinking she was dead. The only lie he told to Hope was when he was kidnapped, claiming it was right after they became engaged, when he was considering going through with the plan to murder her on their wedding night, before realizing he couldn't go through with it, and was then replaced.

Hope refused to believe his story, even when he showed evidence of his not having scars from the injuries he was supposed to have after that night, but when he started talking about the memories from their happier times together, she started to waver a tiny bit.

Now, Rafe will begin to wonder if she is not only starting to buy Aiden's story, but beginning to have some kind of feeling for her husband as well. And though Hope may reassure him that she has no intention of ever being with Aiden again and is committed to him, it could serve to start driving a wedge between the two,
