Prince might have had lots of rumored loves. But there were only two women who he called wife: Mayte Garcia (formerly of VH1’s Hollywood Exes) and Manuela Testolini. The two women joined together to host a special memorial for the late singer just before the one month anniversary of his passing.

An insider confirmed to E! News, “They wanted to have a somber memorial since they weren’t allowed at the other one.”

Fans might recall that reports spread that Prince was cremated in an extremely private service the Saturday after he died on Thursday April 21. Still, the guest list was pretty strict as the ladies only wanted those who were truly close to Prince to attend.

Guests included the likes of Tavis Smiley, Dita Von Teese and film director Spike Lee.

Interestingly enough, Prince’s family says they weren’t aware of this event. Still, they did clear the air and insist in a statement that they did not have a secret memorial on April 23.

“We would like everyone to know that, contrary to previous and current reports, there has been no memorial service, funeral or tribute for Prince that was organized or authorized by the family or Paisley Park representatives. Together, the family is planning an official memorial service and public event to take place in the near future.

They added that considering Prince’s huge influence, they want to make sure they “celebrate his life and legacy in just the right way.”

Garcia and Testolini revealed their close friendship during Garcia's days on VH1's Hollywood Exes. Check it out below.
