It looks like there's a good reason why we've never seen Amal and George Clooney photographed with Tom Cruise in public before. Even though the couple loves to hobnob with a lot of Hollywood A-listers, apparently George has had a hard time getting along with Tom. In fact, there's even a new report that says he's never even liked him to begin with.

Apparently, Clooney threw some serious shade at Tom during a sit down interview with Esquire this month. In it, he hinted that there are some fellow actors in the industry who still think they are in their glory days, even though their star power faded decades ago.

"There are actors you'll see that try to hold on to this leading-man status long past the due date," Clooney told the magazine, and agreed wit the interview that it looked ridiculous.

And according to OK! magazine (via Rumor Fix), Clooney was specifically talking about Cruise in the interview and it's all part of long standing animosity between the two.

A supposed insider told the tabloid that "George has never liked Tom. He thinks it's pathetic that Tom still pushes himself as an action star and is obsessed with Scientology instead of using his money and clout for humanitarian causes." What's more, the source confirmed that the Mission Impossible star "knows that George was targeting him" and this is just a start of Clooney's shade war. "It’s going to get uglier, because the older George gets, the less he cares about mincing words," they said. "The gloves are off."

Clooney's own recent box office film, Hail! Caesar failed to sell many tickets earlier this year. So far, the two stars haven't made any comments to confirm or deny the alleged feud between them.
