Bates Motel is about to meet its fate-- it can only mean that an unexpected guest will be stopping by to take a shower.

On Friday, TV Line announced that the one and only Marion Crane from the movie Psycho will be making an appearance in the final season of the creepy A&E series that previewed the life of Norman Bates when his mother was still alive. Now that Norma's dead, time is moving on and the show will move into the Psycho realm where it all comes to the frightening conclusion of Norman's continuous obsession with his mother.

Executive producer Carlton Cuse mentioned that Marion's visit "will be a big moment" and she'll be in multiple episodes. But it won't be quite what happened when she was in the classic Alfred Hitchcock film.

"We wanted [our fifth and] final season to allow us to do our version of the Psycho lure, but it would be boring to just recreate Psycho," Cuse said.

As for who could play Marion, the site gave some theories on who would be a decent fir for the role. One potential actress is Amanda Seyfried while others include Alexis Bledel and Anna Camp.

Meanwhile, Cuse dished to TV Line in another report on how Norma will stay on the series despite the fact that she's dead. She'll still be around, but not in a way that one might call sane.

"She's existing now in Norman's brain," Cuse revealed. "In the original Psycho you don't really know anything about Norma Bates. You just know that she's a corpse, and you imagine that she was this shrew of a woman who berated her son into becoming crazy. But we re-imagined their relationship as this complex, intense, co-dependent love story. And that relationship continues very much in Season 5."

Bates Motel Season 5 is expected to premiere next spring on A&E.
