Olympic gymnast Aly Raisman placed first on the April 8 episode of Dancing With the Stars, as she was cheered on by her Olympic teammates, Gabby Douglass and Kyla Ross.

Raisman performed a modern dance contemporary routine, inspired by her experiences at the 2012 Summer Olympics games in London. The theme of the Monday's night routine was the best year of the contestants' lives and Raisman chose last year in remembrance of when she helped lead her team to a Olympic Gold medal. She danced with her partner, Mark Ballas to the song Titanium by David Guetta.

The 18-year-old gymnast received the night's highest score of 27 out of 30 points, and received accolades from the judges.

"I'm very proud of you," Judge Carrie Ann Inaba told Raisman. "Perfection of movement is all you know, but contemporary dance is about perfection of emotion. This dance had perfect movement and perfect emotional connection. It was profound."

Judge Bruno Tonioli also seemed impressed by Raisman's performance and told her during the show that she did an amazing job.

"Forget about titanium, you are going for gold," he said.

Raisman told USA Today that she hoped to incorporate some of her dancing skills to her gymnastics in the near future.

"I'm excited to bring some cool moves I've learned on the show to my floor routine," she said.

During Monday's routine, Raisman said she particularly wanted to win Anaba's approval.

"I want to impress Carrie Ann [Inaba]," Raisman said in an interview before the show. "She said I held back the first week and that I went out of character last week, so I don't want her to think that again this week."

Zendaya Coleman and partner Val Chmerkovskiy also did well during their routine to Beyonce's Love on Top, and ended up with a score of 26 out of 30. They also tied with Kellie Pickler.

Dancing with the Stars returns Tuesday at 9 p.m. ET. Unfortunately, one contestant will be sent home.
