Legends of Tomorrow's eponymous heroes won't be the only super team hopping through history this fall.

Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill) has his squad, and, while there's three openings now that the Hawks and Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller) are out of the picture, the Waverider won't necessarily pick up any new passengers in its season 2 travels. The time ship will, however, cross paths with another group of alleged capes.

"We are going to meet another super team," executive producer Marc Guggenheim told TV Insider. "Whether or not they all become members of the Legends, that is probably not going to be the case. There's going to be two super teams depicted on Legends next year, I will definitely say that."

Ignoring the possibility that Guggenheim is merely referring to two iterations of Hunter's team merely separated by time, members of the new crew could include a modern day meta in his early 30s and a female soldier from WWII. Both characters will become series regulars in season 2, according to TV Line, and both will have ties to the 1940s. Meanwhile, Hourman and the Justice Society of America will surely have more than just a passing mention.

Will Hunter's team and this new group have the same goals? Vandal Savage is in the ground, but Legends has yet to reveal Hunter's next great nemesis. According to Guggenheim, this villain will be even worse than the last.

"I will say literally the threat that Vandal Savage posed it's going to seem small in comparison," Guggenheim told Entertainment Weekly. That's not even hyperbole, and you know I'm prone to hyperbole. People will be saying 'Vandal who?' by the time the big bad of season 2 is fully explored or fully revealed."
