Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik are rumored to have split weeks ago, just a short time after celebrating her 21st birthday, but have they really parted ways?

While rumors of a breakup continue to swirl, the 19-year-old model has taken to Twitter where she seemingly shot down reports of a split by promoting the former One Direction singer's apperance on The Voice.

Hadid and Malik began their relationship at the end of last year, and earlier this month, a source claimed they had split after Hadid discovered Malik was text messaging his ex-fiancee, Little Mix singer Perrie Edwards, behind his back.

“Zayn broke the news to Gigi two weeks after her birthday,” a source told Life & Style, via Hollywood Life. “He sat her down at dinner and told her how he felt... Zayn told Gigi that he wanted to keep his options open and work on himself. Gigi was shocked because she thought they were a perfect couple. She is absolutely heartbroken and has been feeling really sad ever since.”

Weeks prior, a separate report claimed Malik was back in touch with Edwards.

“Gigi keeps catching Zayn talking to his ex-fancee [Perrie]. Gigi has had it,” a source told Life & Style, also according to Hollywood Life. “She’s told him that if she catches him talking to his ex again, it’s over for good.”

Although Edwards was reportedly contacting Malik to “discuss some items she still has of his," Hadid allegedly jumped to conclusions about their interaction. 

Hadid and Zayn were “definitely on the rocks,” the source continued at the time, and when it came to their commited relationship, Malik was said to be having second thoughts.

“He’s told her he’s just not sure he can fully commit to her,” the insider added. “He’s enjoying his fame and may want to keep his dating options open.”
