Liam Hemsworth and Cyrus Miley have been engaged for almost a year and with a wedding in their near future, family members continue to speak out in support of the couple.

Last year the actor's older brother, Thor star Chris Hemsworth, said he could not see Liam getting engaged to Miley Cyrus at such a young age. His views have changed since then, after he and his wife, actress Elsa Pataky, expressed how eager they are for the young couple to wed.

"We're very excited," Pataky told E! News of Liam and Cyrus' wedding, while attending the Inaugural Oceana Ball in New York on Monday.

"We just want them to live a happy life," Chris added, before his wife said, "We don't want to get too much into their personal life; we just want them to be happy."

Cyrus, 20, and Liam, 23, started dating in 2009 after they starred together in The Last Song. They got engaged on May 31, 2012. After his proposal with a 3.5-carat diamond ring from jeweler Neil Lane, Cyrus told People, "I'm so happy to be engaged and look forward to a life of happiness with Liam."

The couple planned on getting married in Palm Springs, Calif. in June, but an insider told Life & Style magazine this week that wedding plans have been put on hold.

"There have been so many problems with them, they thought it was best to work out their issues before making such a big commitment," the insider added.

The couple faced some hardships this year, including rumors of Liam cheating on his fiancee with Mad Men star January Jones at a pre-Oscars party in February.
