You can always count on Shirley Manson to tell it like it is. The former Garbage front-woman and vocal feminist has gone on the record to slam Hollywood celebrities who get naked on social media and their album covers in order to sell their music these days. Manson says she is disappointed that so many young female artists are using their sexuality more than their talents to get ahead in the industry.

Speaking to Nylon Magazine this week, Manson didn't name any names but she sure did point her finger at the young starlets who think achieving equal rights means showing off their goods to the public.

The 49-year-old singer said, "I've never felt discriminated against by another musician, but I definitely have within the business, which has been difficult to stomach but not so difficult to counter."

Manson also says that social media might be at blame here, as popular networks like Instagram, Snapchat and Twitter puts a lot of pressure on women to always look perfect.

She explained, "I feel really passionate about being a voice out there that is the opposite of what we're being told by the media--that taking our clothes off on social media is empowering," she said. "Now I'm not saying that you cannot enjoy your naked body--you absolutely should! But be aware that there will be consequences. I wish women could walk down the street naked and never be under threat, but it's highly unlikely that will ever happen."
