Blake Lively stars in a film about a battle with a shark-- but how does she really feel about these animals?

In the movie The Shallows, coming to theaters at the end of the month, Lively plays a surfer who suffers a shark attack and winds up stranded on a rock in the ocean trying to figure out a way to get back on land. This will lead into an epic fight with the shark where she may or may not have to kill it-- unless it kills her first.

Even though Lively's character may go through violent routes to survive, the actress, herself, pointed out how much she really loves sharks in her latest Instagram post.

She posted an artistic photo of the animal surrounded by charismatic butterflies. In the caption, she wrote that sharks are "majestic creatures that need to be protected."

One of the reasons why Lively decided to take on the role in the upcoming action flick is actually because of her husband, Ryan Reynolds. He starred in the movie Buried about a man who gets trapped in a coffin six feet under where the film pretty much centers on that only.

The Shallows is similar in the sense that most of the movie will likely center on Lively's character and how she figures out a way to stay alive. And since her husband was able to pull it off, she thought she could give that a go as well.

"I know how tough that was for him and how rewarding it was," the actress said in a report from Entertainment Weekly. "It was terrifying and one of the most vulnerable things you can do but you gotta do it, right?"
