Although HBO's cable series hit Boardwalk Empire is quite a while away from its season 4 premiere, that hasn't stopped fans from wanting to know the latest dirt on the popular period piece.

Deadline reported that Patricia Arquette has just signed on to don the role of Sally Wheet, a tough owner of a Tampa speakeasy with local gangster ties. The website went on to state that actress' character will be a recurring role, playing opposite Steve Buscemi (Nucky Thompson).

Jeffrey Wright, Ron Livingston, Brian Geraghty and Eric Laden will all play roles in the show's upcoming installment. Man of Steel's Michael Shannon (Nelson Van Alden) is also said to have a role as a member of Al Capone's mob.

Arquette's role will mark her first appearance on TV since working on Medium in 2011.

In other news pertaining to the upcoming season, showrunner Terence Winter gave the confirmation that Kelly MacDonald (Margaret Thompson) and Gretchen Mol (Gillian Darmody) will be returning.
