Pippi Longstocking star Tami Erin was arrested for assaulting her male roommate and has been released since the incident, according to celebrities website TMZ.

The 29-year-old actress who starred in the movie "The New Adventures of Pippi Longstocking," as a nine-year-old unconventional girl with superhuman strength, allegedly was arguing Thursday with her male roommate to the point where he called out for help, according to the Police Department in northern California, TMZ reports.

A neighbor intervened and put her under arrest until police arrived and officially arrested her, according to TMZ's report citing police sources. The actress was released Friday.

Erin starred as the fictional character of the series of children's books by Swedish actor Astrid Lindgren.

Erin has most recently appeared in Warner Bros' "Tim & Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! Chrimbus Special," Dreamscape Cinema's "Disconnect," "The Little Rose" and "Kill You Twice."

Tami is also a UNICEF Ambassador. She reportedly was honored for being the Special Guest Speaker at Children’s Day at the United Nations. She spoke in the General Assembly Hall to the delegates of over 100 countries about the hunger, education and wartime issues children face globally. She also spoke internationally on behalf of the United Nations.
