The mother of Sandy Hook Elementary School shooter Adam Lanza had considered filing a lawsuit against the school after Lanza was beaten and taunted by fellow classmates, according to a relative of the family.

The unnamed relative spoke with the New York Daily News and said Lanza was bullied by his classmates and came home with bruises all over his body. But even though his mother, Nancy Lanza, was enraged over the bullying, the boy wouldn’t confide in her.

When she asked him what was wrong, “He would just sit there,” the relative said.

Lanza shot and killed 26 students and 6 staff members at Sandy Hook Elementary School on Dec. 14, making it one of the worse school shootings in U.S. history.

Some of the teen's peculiar behavior showed in his college records, released last week, stating that the gunman refused to identify his gender.

Lanza attended Western Connecticut State University for less than a year after his mom withdrew him from Newtown High School when he was only 16, according to Mail Online. When asked his gender on a student background information form, Lanza wrote “I choose not to answer.”

In additon to university records, a recent new photo emerged of Lanza, posing on a college ID during his time at Western Connecticut State University. The photo shows a gaunt young man with an unusual stare.

The gunman had reportedly used his mother's gun to kill her and the 26 victims, before turning it on himself.
