Parks and Recreation actress Aubrey Plaza was asked to leave the 2013 MTV Movie Awards on Sunday after she interrupted Will Ferrell's acceptance speech for his Comedic Genius award.

Just as Ferrell, 45, went on stage to accept his award, Plaza jumped on stage with the name of her new film (To Do List)written across her chest as she tried to get the Golden Popcorn statute from Ferrell's hands. The 28-year-old had a comedic exchange with the Anchorman star before leaving the stage and returning to her front row seat, and many wondered if the ordeal was all a joke.

Ferrell played off the moment and said, "Aubrey Plaza, everyone," he said. "Just like we rehearsed it. Perfect, it was perfect. Not too long, not too short. Right on the money."

MTV confirmed that the incident was not planned, and Plaza was asked to leave the awards show by producers shortly after. Some believe she was drunk, since she was seen holding a cup in hand throughout the incident. Plaza also went on stage without any shoes. The speech interruption is very similar to when Kanye West jumped on stage and cut off Taylor Swift's acceptance speech at the 2009 MTV Movie Awards. West also went far enough to say that Beyonce deserved the respective award instead of Swift.
