Thousands of people gathered to mourn Muhammad Ali at his Muslim funeral on Thursday, but millions more can bid farewell to the legend as he is laid to rest of Friday.

The boxing great passed away last Friday at the age of 74 in Arizona, leaving behind a legacy that will never be forgotten. The Greatest's body was returned to his hometown of Louisville, Kentucky where a funeral was held on Thursday. On Friday, a processional will lead into an interfaith service at the KFC Yum! Center.

Ali planned all the details of his final goodbye himself, revising the minutia several times over the last 10 years, according to Reuters. The renowned fighter wanted the service to be free to the public, and, in accordance with his wishes, 15,000 tickets were handed out Tuesday. 9 a.m. ET - Farewell procession through Ali's childhood neighborhood on Bounce TV.

2 p.m. ET - Memorial service at the KFC Yum! Center on ESPN, Bounce TV, and TV One.

The Memorial service will feature eulogies from Bill Clinton, Bryant Gumbel, and Billy Crystal before Ali is privately laid to rest at Cove Hill Cemetery.

"The message that we'll be sending out is not our message -- this was really designed by The Champ himself," Timothy Gianotti, an Islamic studies scholar who helped plan the service, told CBS.

"The love and the reverence and the inclusivity that we're going to experience over the coming days is really a reflection of his message to the people of planet Earth."
