There is no giving up yet on the Cruel Intentions TV series.

On Tuesday, Entertainment Tonight shared details from Peter Gallagher, who plays Edward Valmont-- the father of Sebastian-- in the series based on the film. It's not official yet if the show will air, but Gallagher gave the impression that it could definitely still happen.

"What I hear is that it's very, very much a possibility," the actor said. "There have been a lot of changes going on over at Sony lately, so it's kind of slowed things down, but they've stuck the pilot."

So far, the first episode seems to be worth the watch.

"I guess a lot of people have responded very well," Gallagher said. "A lot of people were interested in it and the pilot is really good."

As far as he knows, the series is "very much alive."

Series creator Roger Kumble previously dished to Variety that the show is still being worked on. The timing hasn't been great, but there's still hope.

"The latest I've heard is that Sony and NBC are trying to figure this out," Kumble said. "It feels like a long time, but it hasn't been that long because they had the upfronts and then it was Memorial Day and everyone in the industry goes on vacation so I think they're regrouping. What's been great is that I'm still getting emails of support from NBC and Sony saying, 'We're behind this show.'"

The show is expected to air on NBC, but if that doesn't happen, then it might end up on another network.

"Because of the IP and because of the love for the pilot, they're optimistic about their chances," Kumble said. "Both Sony and NBC have been so amazing. It's been the best experience of my career...we're all on the same page and that really made it a real joy to develop."
