It's time for the NCIS: Los Angeles' creative minds to get cracking; season 8 awaits!

The CBS series closed out season 7 without it's usual cliffhanger, but, nevertheless, fans are itching to find out what's next. Thanks to the reunion of the NCIS: LA writers room, we're one step closer to rejoining Callen (chris O'Donnell) and Co. on their next case.

"The #ncisla writers are back in town," executive producer John Peter Kousakis announced on Monday. "Gr8 things R cooking. I [t]ook a sneak a peek at what's up. WOW! #staytuned for an exciting ride on S8."

Writer/producer Kyle Harimoto (“Granger, O.”, “Matryoshka: Part 2”) also took to Twitter to celebrate the start of the new season.

Unfortunately, little is known about season 8. Fans can take heart, however, in the promise of the Densi proposal. Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) and Kensi (Daniela Ruah) aren’t ready to have kids, but the LAPD detective will pop the question sometime in the near future.

“We will not see, I don't think, a proper proposal until next season, because we have an idea for how to do that that I want to play out," showrunner Scott Gemmill told TV Guide. "I already know how we're going to do it. It's just, the fans have waited long enough that we want it to be worth the wait."

It remains to be seen how NCIS: LA will handle Ruah’s real life pregnancy. The actress is due to have her second child this fall, and we’re hoping the writers handle her brief absence as smoothly as they did the first time. Season 5 saw Ruah disappear from set for her maternity leave, but she stayed on screens thanks to her pre-filmed Afghanistan arc.

Find out what’s next for Callen, Sam (LL Cool J), Deeks, Kensi, and the rest of the team when NCIS: LA moves to CBS Sundays this fall.
